The Rough-Face Girl

I read The Rough-Face Girl today and it is a good story for children because it is pretty much the Cinderella story. I like this because it shows that same sort of tale but from a different culture's perspective and showing other cultures to kids will hopefully help them to see the perspectives of others and become more accepting of people that are different. I also like this book because it shows that beauty is on the inside. The rough faced girl is not seen as beautiful but she has a good heart, and this book teaches kids that having a good heart is more important than what you look like on the outside.
